The Knights, a NYC-based chamber orchestra, premiere a new arrangement by Michi of Rhapsody No. 2 by Jessie Montgomery. This work was originally for solo violin, and coincidentally originally commissioned and recorded by Michi for her solo album, Planetary Candidate

Michi gives a solo performance of Jessie Montgomery’s Rhapsody No. 2., and joins Rhiannon Giddens, Attacca String Quartet, and members of Silkroad Ensemble for an array of chamber concerts, including a performance of Giddens’ Omar’s Journey.

Commissioned in 2018 by the Aizuri Quartet with Kinan Azmeh, Michi’s clarinet quintet, Lullaby for the Transient, is performed by supergroup Todd Palmer, Benjamin Beilman, Alexi Kenney, Ayane Kozasa, and Paul Wiancko in Charleston, SC.

The performance takes place as part of “Gravity Hill,” a two-night two-night festival featuring place-based installations and immersive audiovisual interventions, curated by artists Cori Cannavino and Stella Silbert, and co-presented by Hawks & Reed and Antenna Cloud Farm.

Michi’s festival organization, Antenna Cloud Farm, presents The Music Walk, a day-long, village-wide festival, in support of Nolumbeka Project, a partner organization of ACF’s that supports and celebrates the histories, cultures, and persistence of Northeastern Indigenous Peoples.

Gertie’s Kiss premiered at the Ordway Concert Hall in Saint Paul, MN.

The ensemble Accordo gives the world premiere of Michi’s new work Gertie’s Kiss, commissioned by The Schubert Club and performed live to a short film edited by Sarah Zahorodni.

World premiere of Tyranny of Coordinates by Boston Chamber Music Society.

Michi’s new piece for piano quintet was performed by Jennifer Frautschi, Yura Lee, Dimitri Murrath, Raman Ramakrishnan, and Max Levinson in Harvard University’s Sanders Theater.
